Video Project Proposal
For this Video Project Assignment, I was thinking that I would go back to my high school, and record the practices of a few teams at the school, then when I came back to Lyndon, I would do the same thing for the sports teams here. The purpose behind this idea is to show the jump in competition between high school and division 3. Working on this project, I think that I will do a little natural sound of the practices, but also see who would be available for interviews. Working on this assignment is me myself and I.

Video in Newspapers
For this assignment, I looked at the Los Angeles Times Newspaper.
To start off with, it was hard to find an online newspaper that offered video along side it's print stories.
The online paper is set up with a tab on the side of the site that allows the viewer to click on a video tab, and you will be connected to another page offering a multitude of videos. The page starts with a section labeled "Mini Documentaries" which you can scroll through to find a video that looks appealing to you.
These stories aren't major stories, and don't look as if they have much content in them usable for the front page of the times. But if you scroll down a little farther, you have the option to click on more videos that look as if they were written with a little more professional writing and diction in mind.
The entire section is littered with a mix of news worthy videos, or miscellaneous and fun videos for anyone that may be interested. The videos tend to be shorter than the average length of a news segment on television, averaging around 50 seconds to about a minute in length. The subjects could be considered interesting depending on who is viewing them and what exactly you are looking for.
It seems compared to iReport, that the offerings on LA Times are a bit more fun than what you might find on iReport. There are videos related to movie and tv reviews, it could be because California is a major film and television destination, but the mixture of news and entertainment is nice compared to iReport.
